This was one of the first cigars that I picked up at the beginning of this year and I had not tried a LFD before that.  I had always heard great things about it and was looking forward to it.   They have been known for making strong cigars.  Litto Gomez is the man behind the cigar and he has been very outspoken about the rights of cigar smokers.  You may have seen his ad:

I could not have said it better myself.  Anyway, on to the cigar.

Appearance: This is black as night and oily like the Gulf of Mexico.  Just a gorgeous looking cigar.    10/10

Construction: This is a well made cigar too.  No soft or hard spots but there were a couple of visible large veins.  Triple cap at the end.      9/10

Burn:   Flawless.  The veins that I saw presented no problem.  10/10!

Aroma: Earthy with a hint of salt.  It was almost like smelling coastal air.   9/10

Draw: Very good.  No touch ups needed.    9/10

Flavor: The flavor profile changed a couple of times.  The first half was medium all the way with some coffee notes.  The last half blossomed into a powerhouse with less coffee and more pepper.  A very nice change.  9/10

Availability: Good.  You can buy these online or at most brick and mortars.  Mine was purchased from Alcorns at 7.80/each (not including the “box” discount).  9/10

Personal Overall Experience:  I was very happy with the experience of the LFD.  It kept me interested throughout the entire smoke and I didn’t want any of them to end.  I will be trying more of their blends as time goes on.        28/30.

Total: 93/100

Matt
