MARCH MEETING

looks to me like GROWLERS is going to be our main hangout with Jessie as our waitress. fine with me, my first smoke was the club selection,PADRINO by OLIVEROS, very fine smoke, but mine had a bit of a tight draw. i tasted a tiny hint of saltyness and a bit of wood and leather 8/10 next was a RP RENAISSANCE, mighty fine stogie! spicy throughout and almost a tad floral and sweet. great draw 9 1/2/10. last was a RP WINTER COLLECTION, this is a winner!! full bodied with lots of spice flavor, in my opinion,I enjoy this more than an EDGE.All in all it was a very nice evening.........happy smoking everyone....jeff

  1. Jeff, I think you are right on with the Growlers statement. Consider it our home away from home.

Padrino Edicion Italiana - 5x60. Impressive looking maduro cigar. Loads of flavor on the front end with leather on the palate. Even burn but towards the end, mine started to fall apart. I think it was a fluke b/c nobody else's did that. Good selection 8 of 10

Rocky Patel Winter Collection Torpedo 6x52
This was my favorite of the night. Fantastic burn with plenty of pepper and spice. Great white ash, even draw. 9.7 of 10

Last but not least, San Cristobal by Ashton, 5x50 Robusto. Lots of chocolate on the front end. Beautiful, perfect burn that I took down to my fingers. 9 of 10

  2. Growlers is hard to beat, and Jess makes the evening all that more enjoyable.

Sorry for running late, and sorry I missed you John.

Padrino Edicion Italiana: very dark, bulky, maduro. I was expecting the smoke to be a bit more spicy than it actually was, however, it was a great smoke. A bit sweet when I first lit up, even burn all the way to the finish, and a great draw. Thanks John!! 8/10

I also enjoyed the RP Winter Collection, and rate this smoke at an 8.5/10.

Looking forward to seeing everyone next month: two birthdays and one new Dad--more than enough reasons to celebrate!!

  3. Ahh, a little late on the post here, so please forgive. It was a wonderful cigar night at Growlers as usual. The shrimp po' boy was awesome!

The Padrino Edicion Italiana was a very nice mild cigar. It had a nice draw, very dark and oily, and I tasted a nice roasted wood flavor. Nice! 7.5/10.

Next was a Carlos Toraño Casa Toraño toro. Mild. A little tough on the draw at first, but what turned me off about the cigar was the cheese flavor left in my mouth afterwards. No good in my book. 4/10-because of taste.

I did enjoy a Juan Lopez belicoso later in the evening. Nice thick and tasty smoke, a little spiciness and dark sweetness at times as well. Very nice 8/10.

Smoke 'em if you got 'em.
