single vs multi
i've be pondering this subject for some time now and am looking for you imput. is a single torch lighter better than a multi torch lighter and which uses the least amount of fluid. does a single torch with a big ring gauge cigar use the same amount of fluid as a triple in the same cigar? is it worth thinking about or i'm i just rambling.....happy smoking...jeff

I would have to say that the single torch lighters are more "elegant", I guess, as they take longer to light the cigar, thus enabling more tastes to be experienced during the lighting process. The multitorches, though, are second to none for getting the job done right the first time--and it's a tough call for fluid consumption (as I would say the multi's use more fluid BUT they light the stogie quicker than the singles, so the multi's are not used as long as the singles to light up--maybe at the next meeting we can do a little first-hand research).

I don't have too much experience with the torches. I had one and it worked fine but only lasted about 3 monthes. I am a big Zippo fan. I know a lot of guys don't like them b/c they "foul" the cigar with the fluid smell, but I love the way they light. It doesn't burn like a torch, it just ignights the wrapper and filler right at the same momement so I have a good clean burn very consistantly. Anytime I don't have a good burn, it is the cigars fault.
